1965–1969 között a Magyar Rádió és Televízió gyermekkórusában szerepelt, ekkor Japánban, az USA-ban, Oroszországban és Európában turnézott. Tanulmányait a Bartók Béla Zeneművészeti Szakiskolában végezte el 1972–1976 között, ahol Vukán György tanítványa volt. Ezután a Köllő Miklós Pantomim együttesében énekelt és mímezett a franciaországi és spanyolországi turnén. 1969-1972 között a Korong együttes énekese, amelynek tagjai voltak Miklós Tibor, Csuha Lajos, Miklóska Lajos, Dancsák Gyula és Hőnig Rezső.

Between 1965-1969 she appeared in the children's choir of the Hungarian Radio and Television touring in Japan, the US, Russia and Europe. He studied at the Béla Bartók Music School from 1972-1976 where he was a student of George Vukán. Then she sang and mimed in the Köllő Miklós Pantomime as they toured in France and Spain. Between 1969-1972 she was the singer of the band Korong whose members were Tibor Miklós, Lajos Csuha, Lajos Miklóska, Gyula Dancsák and Rezső Hőnig.

In 1972, young rock musicians held the Hungarian premiere of Jesus Christ Superstar in oratorio form. The band Korong played the music and its members sang the main parts as well. One of the participants of this event of Hungarian rock history is Magdi Bódy who sang the role of Mary Magdalene. Between 1972-1975 she toured with the bands Generál and Mikrolied with great success in Hungary and abroad.

Between 1975-1980 she founded her first band, with which she gave 500-600 concerts a year both in Hungary and in neighboring countries. For three consecutive years she was Singer of the Year (1976, 1977, 1978). Her records appeared in Poland, Soviet Union, Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, America, and Finland. In Berlin, for over a year she was the singer of Manfred Krug show in Friedrichstadtpalac with Nina Hagen and Günter Fischer Band.

In 1981 she mentored the band KFT and developed their image, then they recorded an LPat Omega's studio and gave concerts in university clubs. In 1981-1994 Bódy sang in concert halls, jazz clubs, radios, televisions of Canada and the United States. In 1982, she won first prize at the song competition of Ottawa Radio for the song I wanna go, followed by a national tour in Barrymore's with Tina Turner, Donovan and Buddy Rich and his band. In 1983 she became professor at the Ottawa Conservatory, where she founded a school for singers. In 1987, she moved to Toronto then to New York. She made albums with famous musicians (Special EFX, Michael Bolton, Attila Zoller, Chris Martinez, Chris Norman), sang, toured, and taught on a regular basis.

In 1994, she moved back to Hungary at her mother's request. Between 1995-2015 she gave jazz concerts at the Palace of Arts, in televisions, radios and at foreign festivals. A regular performer at Jazz Garden. In 2013 she won the best jazz singer prize in Canada.
