Beethoven: String Quartet in C minor, op.18

***
Dvořák: F major, American String Quartet, op. 96

Kallai String Quartet made its debut in 2015 in the Georg Solti chamber hall of the Academy of Music playing pieces by Haydn, Bartok and Dohnanyi. Just six months after their formation they won second prize at the Societa Umanitaria International Music Competition of Milan, and in 2016 first prize of the Leo Weiner Chamber Competition. Erno Kallai as a dedicated chamber musician learned from such masters of the string quartet repertoire as Earl Carlyss of Juilliard Quartet or Merry Peckham of Cavani Quartet, but the string quartet collaborated with Janos Devich and Gábor Takács-Nagy as well. By combining the American and Hungarian schools the unique interpretations of Kallai Quartet evoke the golden age of chamber music. This concert is a prize offered by Óbudai Társaskör for winning the 2016 Leo Weiner String Quartet Competition.
