The two-concert chamber music series organized by Óbudai Társaskör commemorates the 135th anniversary of the birth of Hungarian genius Béla Bartók. The two concerts take different points of view of Bartók's life work: as a performer and as a composer.

The date of the first concert (October 8th) is an important one in Bartók's life: in 1940, on this day, he gave his last concert in Hungary. The concert features older composers who Bartók liked: JS Bach, whose sonatas he played regularly - such as the H minor Sonata he played five times with different violinists - and Debussy's G-major Sonata, which he played unusually often, a total of nineteen times, in public concerts. Bartók contemporary Dohnanyi's Piano Quintet in C minor, which Bartók played at beginning of the 1920s, and his own Contrasts, which he wrote in 1938-39, and is the only chamber work written by him with a wind instrument. The last concert of his life, along with the Second Rhapsody, Bartók played Contrasts.
