Mihai Diaconescu was born in Craiova, Romania. He was 4 when he began to play the piano. He graduated from the Gheorghe Dima Academy of Music, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Boldizsár Csíky. Currently he is in the masters program of the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, his teacher is prof. Erik T. Tawaststjerna. He has attended courses by Walter Krafft, Mihai Ungureanu, Martin Hughes, Richard Goode, Paavali Jumppanen and Pascal Denis. Prize winner of numerous national and international competitions, winner of the first prize at the Rovere d'Oro in Italy and the Romanian Music Olympics. He has given concerts in his native country and abroad in Germany, Italy, Austria, Poland, Finland, Russia and Hungary.
