Tonight we can listen to the compositions of two prominent members of the Bach family. Second-born son Carl Philipp Emanuel, also known as the "Hamburg" Bach spent the last twenty years of his life as music director of the city. One of his Hamburg Symphonies opens tonight's concert, followed by two of "dad's" hits. The Badinerie movement of the Suite in B minor is one of the most well-known and popular pieces of music. Following the Brandenburg concerto we will hear Liszt Prize Winner Béla Drahos play.
