"When Otto Till - with whom we have been frieds for decades - formed the band, the young musicians were nine or ten years old. Most of these children are now respectable mothers and fathers. What attracted them to be happy to participate in the work of an orchestra? Perhaps the following: making music together; their love of music; the resulting strength of the community, a friendly atmosphere; the changing scenery of music trips; and besides all of this - which is not at all negligible - their love for Uncle Otto, which of course was mutual, and which lives on as a gentle memory that still touches them today. Some of the band members are now professional musicians, others chose different careers. But all of them who can keep coming back. Each of them has the "beautiful virtue of loyalty."
